SUMMARY of 

HBO's First Chinese-Language Original Series Takes Taiwan to the World

◎ "The Teenage Psychic" is a story about a 16-year-old girl who can communicate with gods, ghosts, and other spirits, people can ask the psychic to change their luck or do "Siu-Kiann" to bless them.

◎ There is no rule of monotheistic faiths in Taiwan. This story also narrate the utilitarianism in the temple via an adolescent's eyes. "Temple culture has its bright and dark sides,”the 29-year-old Taiwanese writer-director, Chen Ho-Yu (陳和榆) said.

◎ People in Taiwan speak Madarin Chinese and local dialects. In temples, dialects are spoken a lot, especially executing ceremonies. Audience can enjoy several languages acted by native speakers without famous international foreign actors. The TV series premiered in April 2, 2017 on HBO in 23 Asia countries and territories.

作為亞洲第十五大經濟體，台灣悄然地建立的軌跡和記錄，被公認為世界上科技與文化的供應商。

在總統當選人川普引發外交風波前，台灣長期以來受到極大國際關注，川普直接與該國具有獨立意識的領導人對話，惹怒視台灣為中國一部分的北京當局。

這個自治島嶼是每年出口超過3000億的經濟大國，被世界經濟論壇（WEF，World Economic Forum）評選為全球前十五大具有競爭力的經濟體，超前中國與部分G20國家（二十國集團）。

台灣的際遇與國際科技領域息息相關，蘋果公司以半導體製造iPhone促使該國出口量居於全年之冠。

將重點放在科技，以及與美國及幾乎全亞洲大型經濟國家的緊密經濟關係，增添該國國際份量，卻掩蓋了其他成就。

「台灣在高科技界扮演要角…人們可能沒有理解到全世界（至少）85%的筆電是由台灣公司製造的」，其中包含了幾個大廠牌，外貿協會（TAITRA）董事長梁國新在一次的會面向CNBC新聞台說明。

「雖然，相較之下我們是個小國…台灣是許多高科技產業測試（其）產品與商業模式的絕佳地點…並可運送至中國及其他發展中國家，」梁董事長於近日至紐約的旅行途中說明。

想到來自台灣的巨大機械（Giant Bicycles）為世界最大單車製造商之一因其使用高技術零件而知名，人們聽到也就會想到貝里克單車（Velocite Bikes）。出產輕巧可愛折疊式自行車的太平洋自行車（Pacific Cycles）、以實惠價格銷售專業單車的美麗達工業（Merida）都是台灣製造。台灣島上有寬闊的自行車道、多變的山勢地形與合宜的氣候，不論是人文或自然都非常有利於騎單車。

加速前進

SYM三陽機車是台灣最大的機車製造商之一，其起家於新竹，最初經營製造單車燈，現在每年生產三十萬台自有品牌的機車和現代汽車旗下的三萬五千台汽車。KYMCO光陽機車為另一機車製造商，嶄露頭角前為HONDA本田汽車的協力廠商，最終於2000年將其股份全數購回。

憑藉「臥虎藏龍」、「斷背山」和「少年pi的奇幻漂流」在國際上享譽盛名的導演李安至美國發展前，在台灣最南端屏東出生、成長。

貓兒放鬆的好去處
